Latest Updates from Our Project:

December update
11 months ago – Wed, Dec 20, 2023 at 02:25:49 AM

Hi everyone!

This won't be a long one - just a quick update on progress before our next post, sometime in January.

21X progress

We've been editing and refining the rulebook and preparing it for blind testing: this is the step where we ensure people who've never played it before can easily learn from it. We've been tweaking the layout of the final core cards and refining the expansion card icons. We'll be excited to share even more details about what we're up to in a future update.

Pledge manager

We're already at 88% completion! Fantastic result. It's also been great to see so many of you add-on some of our other games - including puzzler Crypt X which has been quite a hit. But it makes sense: if you like cracking a puzzle and finding the solution, you'll also get a lot out of this one!

Thank you so much to everyone who has already completed the "survey". However, there's still quite a lot of you who have not filled it in yet. If you can complete soon, I'd really appreciate it. Because this is a numbered limited edition we need to carefully plan manufacturing quantities, so its unusually important.

Retail & education pledges

Just a reminder about this in case you haven't seen the PM yet. We're not managing these through BackerKit. Instead you'll receive a link to confirm your order next year. There you'll be able to order any quantity at 60% off MSRP/RRP from the minimum order volume (12 copies). Your £40 deposit you paid on Kickstarter will be counted against that order. So while you should keep an eye out, there's nothing for you to do right now!

Failed KS pledges

I know some of you had pledges that failed purely because of international card processing issues. The PM will try to bill you again. If that still fails, we're going to find another method for you to pay - so never fear! We'll do that well before we close the PM.

That's all for now!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Pledge Manager live imminently!
12 months ago – Thu, Nov 30, 2023 at 11:10:18 AM

The Pledge Manager for 21X will be live very shortly! You will soon receive an email from BackerKit with your link, so look out for it in the next few days. This pledge manager is how you will provide your shipping address and pay shipping costs (there will also be add-ons available!). If you do not complete the pledge manager, we cannot send you the game.

What if I can't find the email?

Check your spam folder. If you use Gmail, sometimes your invite will go to your "Promotions" tab. If you still can't find it, search your inbox for "[email protected]".

If that doesn't work, email support@naylorgames where we can better help you. Please note: If you use Apple Private Relay Email you will not get a survey. We need to update your email address to add you - please let us know an email we can use so we can.

Can I still back if I missed the campaign?

Yes! You absolutely can, you can make a late pledge here.

What if I need to change my address?

As long as your items have not been shipped, you can always change your address. Simply log back in to the pledge manager and change your address. You can find the link in your email to get back to it (as above). However, if you change your country, additional shipping costs may apply and we will need to change the country part of the address field for you.

When will the pledge manager close?

We're planning to lock orders at the beginning of February.

What if I have an issue or question not stated here?

If you are having difficulties not addressed here, then please contact us at [email protected]

That's all for now. Thanks again for backing 21X and, as always, we'll be in touch as soon as there's relevant news!

10X funded + final stretch goal unlocked + that's a wrap!
about 1 year ago – Thu, Oct 19, 2023 at 07:28:10 AM

And that's a wrap... thank you to everyone who backed and supported! We're more than 10X funded - far beyond our initial expectations for the game. We are so happy that so many of you want to play it or share it with others.

Final stretch goal unlocked

Maximum thickness cardstock unlocked

Just in time for the end, we squeaked that final stretch goal. With this final upgrade to the cardstock, you've ensured (alongside all the other stretch goals unlocked) that this limited edition will really be something special. Thank you!

What's next

Our very first step is take a well-earned rest from 21X... and go back to working on all the other exciting projects we have on here at Naylor Games! But after that we'll get cracking on finalising artwork, rulebook and box design. It looks like a lot of you also added-on copies of Professor du Sautoy's excellent book... so we get to make some book publishers very happy too.

The next update you get from us should be sometime in the next calendar month.

Thank you so much again for making this excellent game a reality!

All the best,

James & Jaya

9x funded + Matt Parker card reveal + Final 48 hours
about 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 17, 2023 at 05:37:40 AM

We're 9x funded - Not long to go now! We can almost taste that last stretch goal.

Matt Parker's card revealed

How the card works:

The card has the same value as the Xth digit of Pi. So if X is currently 5, it has the same value as the 5th digit of Pi: 9. But if you choose 6 for the value of X, it will fall to 2: the 6th digit.

Like all the other cards in this series, if you want to use a negative number for X you can. In the game, we treat X as the absolute value of X multiplied by -1. So if X is -4 then the result is -5. (X can't be 0).

Pi is one of the most famous numbers out there, and it's one that's close to Matt's heart. So much so that he makes a video every year on Pi day calculating it in a different way!

This card produces lots of odd numbers and it's always a single digit - which makes it potentially very powerful. But those numbers still jump around a lot (lucky we show Pi to so many places on the card): you'll have to be careful how you use it.

Not long to go now, let's keep pushing. Can we make that final stretch goal? Only with your help!

8x funded + Ben Sparks card reveal
about 1 year ago – Sat, Oct 14, 2023 at 09:28:58 AM

We're 8X funded and over 1000 backers! We're looking forward to seeing how much further we can push in this final stretch. So please share the campaign if you can - and we can get that last stretch goal!

Ben Sparks' card revealed

Ben Sparks' card continues our celebration of famous number sequences with Fibonacci numbers!

Ben Sparks' card

How the card works:

The value of Ben's card will be equal to the Xth number in the Fibonacci sequence (if you've been following our updates on number sequence cards, you might be beginning to see a pattern!). If X=2 this card would be worth 1, while if X=9, this card would be worth 34.

Like all the other cards in this series, if you want to use a negative number for X you can. In the game, we treat X as the absolute value of X multiplied by -1. So if X is -4 then the result is -3. (X can't be 0).

When represented visually as above, (a pattern formed from the relationship between Fibonacci numbers knows as "the golden ratio"), the Fibonacci sequence can actually be found in many places in nature, such as flowers, wind patterns and even galaxies!

We've got one more card still to come so stay tuned.

Until then,

James & Jaya
